This constituency includes the areas of Old Karachi East and Malir Cantt.

This constituency is stronghold of MQM. In 2002 General Elections, Muhammad Shamim Siddiqi of MQM won the seat. In next two General Elections of 2008 and 2013, MQM’s Sajid Ahmed won the seat.
