NA 61 Chakwal-II / NA-61 Pakistan
NA 61 is a constituency for the seat of Pakistan’s National Assembly from Chakwal. Chakwal was part of Rawalpindi Division but in 1985 Chakwal District was created and now there are total 2 National Assembly seats from Chakwal District i.e. NA 61 and NA 61. NA-61 is also known as NA-61 Chakwal-II and it is one of two constituencies of Chakwal District for National Assembly of Pakistan.
This constituency is stronghold of Tamman clan. In all elections held here no other candidate than Tamman won the seat. This constituency was known as NA-44 till 2002. In 1988 General Elections, Sardar Mansoor Hayat Tamman won the seat as IJI candidate. In 1990 General Elections, Sardar Mansoor Hayat Tamman again won as IJI candidate. In 1993 General Elections, Sardar Mumtaz Khan Tamman won as PPP candidate. In 1997, Sardar Mansoor Hayat Tamman won the seat for third time but this time as PML-N candidate.
In 2002 General Elections, Muhammad Faiz Malik Tamman won the seat Independent candidate. In 2008 General Elections, again Muhammad Faiz Malik Tamman won the seat as Independent candidate. A by-election was held in 2010 which was won by Sardar Mumtaz Khan Tamman as PML-N candidate. In 2013 General Elections, Sardar Mumtaz Khan Tamman won the seat on PML-N ticket for the third time. He defeated a big name of PML-Q , Ch. Pervaiz Elahi in this election and proved that this constituency only belongs to Tamman clan.
